Hyderabad, July 19 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Assembly was adjourned twice today for brief periods as the Opposition TDP stalled the proceedings over the issue of marring the sanctity of the Holy pilgrimage centre of Tirumala by the ruling Congressmen.

The trouble started when the Speaker K R Suresh Reddy announced that he was disallowing the adjournment motions, given notice of, by the TDP on the Tirumala incident.

Agitated TDP members rushed into the Well of the House raising slogans demanding action against the Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Board, including its chairman for alleged failure to protect the sanctity of the Tirumala, where political activity has been banned by the Government.

After repeated appeals by the Speaker to the agitated members to go back to their seats fell on deaf ears, the Speaker announced the adjournment of the House for 15 minutes.

After the House reassembled, the TDP members continued their protest demanding justice, even as Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy and later Legislative Affairs Minister K Rosaiah informed the House that a statement would be made on the issue later in the day or tomorrow.

Disatisfied with the Ministers reply the TDP members shouted slogans against the Congress government.

With no signs of restoration of normalcy, the Speaker announced adjournment of the House for another 15 minutes.
