Hot, humid conditions prevail in Delhi, mercury rises to 37.5 deg

New Delhi, July 19 (UNI) Acute hot and humid conditions today left Delhiites sweating with the mercury shooting up to 37.5 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal.

The scorching heat, coupled with high humidity levels of over 90 per cent, left Delhiites sweltering. The maximum temperature shot up to 37.5 degrees, from 36.6 degrees yesterday.

The minimum temperature rose to 28 degrees, two degrees above normal.

The warm and humid weather is predicted to prevail in the Capital for another three to four days. Delhi and other parts of the country were likely to witness subdued rainfall activity for the next four to five days, according to Met office.

The beginning of next week could, however, witness an enhancement in rainfall activity in the city.

The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi, likely to become partly cloudy during the next 24 hours with likelihood of thunder showers in some areas.
