Council Chairman withholds Govt. reply on Delhi Karnataka Bhavan
Bangalore, July 19 (UNI) The Karnataka Legislative Council today withheld a Government reply on maintenance of Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi and directed the Government to reply afresh.
Mr Siddunyme Gouda, who was on the Chair, said that since the Primary and Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj Horatti, who replied on behalf of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, was not satisfied with the reply, and wanted to hold a floor leaders meeting in consultation with the Chief Minister, the reply to the question raised by Ms Vimala Gowda of (BJP) on the subject was withheld.
Members of both treasury and opposition, expressed their displeasure over maintenance and treatment of legislators during their visit by the staff.
Ms Vimala Gowda said the room attending employees did not know Kannada language and never listened to their requests.
Mr Ugrappa (Congress) demanded that the employees may be transferred to other Government-run Guest Houses on routine basis three years once.
Intervening, Minister for Public Works Department H D Revanna said there were no application from Karnataka for employment, hence Kannada people could not be appointed.
Tender had been called for renovation and it would be taken up shortly, he added.
