Woman among 4 smugglers arrested

Srinagar, July 17 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police arrested four smugglers, including a woman and two government officials and recovered about six kg of charas in south Kashmir today.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Pulwama, said police seized five kgs of charas from Abdul Ahad Dar and Sara wife of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh at Ladermad, Awantipora today.

Both were later taken into custody after the FIR 283/07 was registered under section 8/20 of NDPS Act.

He said, during a naka checking at village Melhura Wachi, police recovered more than a half kg narcotic substance from a maruti car.

Two government employees Bashir Ahmad Dar (forest) and Bilal Ahmad (Road and Buildings) were arrested.

The two had admitted during the interrogation that they were supplying the drugs to students of different educational institutions.
