New Delhi, July 17 (UNI) After a pleasant weather last week, brought about by bountiful rain and overcast conditions, warm and humid conditions today returned to Delhi, with the mercury rising to 36.8 degree Celsius, two degrees above normal.

Though Delhiites woke up to a cloudy morning with the minimum being recorded at 25.4 degrees, two degrees below normal, the clouds dissipated as the day progressed, being replaced by bright sunlight.

The sunny weather, coupled with a high humidity level of close to 90 per cent, led to a rise in maximum temperature, from 35.5 degrees yesterday to 36.8 degrees today.

It was another rainless day today, after bountiful showers last week.

The dry spell could prevail for the next three to four days with weathermen forecasting a subdued rainfall activity in Delhi and other parts of North West India in the next four to five days.

''Numerical weather prediction models suggest that Southwest Monsoon is likely to remain in a weak phase and consequently sub-dued rainfall activity is likely over most parts of Northwest India, including Delhi,''the weather office said.

The Met office has forecast warm and humid weather and a partly cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with the possibility of thundry development in some areas.
