Torrents disrupt life in Patna

Patna, July 17 (UNI) Heavy downpours have thrown life out of gear here since last night.

Most of the low-lying areas in Patna and its suburbs came under knee-deep water causing severe inconvenience to the people.

Among the most affected areas were Sri Krishna Nagar, Kidawi Puri, Chitragupt Nagar, Kankar Bagh, Rajendra Nagar and Kadam Kuan, where most of the people had been rendered homeless.

The Met office said the capital town had recorded 41 mm of rainfall during the past two days with the possibility of more showers in the coming days.

As a result, the day temperature had also been reduced by at least three to four degree Celsius though humidity continued to be high.
