Son's call cost mother's life

Chatra, Jul 17 (UNI) A woman died of a snake bite while trying to receive her sons phone call at Madhopur village under Itkhori police station area of the district here.

Geeta Devi's son's call to her proved fatal. A snake that was encircling Geeta Devi's mobile bit her to death when she was trying to receive her son's call yesterday.

The mobile was gifted to Geeta Devi (46) by her son who stays in Mumbai.

According to family sources, the deceased fell unconcious and succumbed to the bite after half an hour.

Her son before leaving for Mumbai had given the mobile phone to the family members ''hoping to be in touch with them''.

In the past two weeks about six persons fell victim to snake bites in the area, police said.
