Reach of Doordarshan in J'khand to be expanded: Pandit

Ranchi, July 17 (UNI) Newly appointed station Director of Doordarshan (DD) here Shailesh Pandit today said enhancing the reach of National channels, including news and DD Bharti, would be one of his priorities.

Addressing a press conference after assuming office here, Mr Pandit said according to rules of Prasar Bharti showing various Doordarshan channels was mandatory by the private operators and efforts would be made for the expansion of Doordarshan.

Mr Pandit said a meeting with the state chief secretary and the home secretary would be held to enforce the law.

He said programmes of national channel were popular in the rural areas than any other channel.
