Jailed Soren seeks court order to vote in Prez poll
Ranchi, Jul 17 (UNI) Incarcerated former Coal Minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) president Sibu Soren has sought court permission to cast his ballot in the July 19 Presidential poll.
The Election Commission had already allowed Mr Soren facing life imprisonment for killing his personal assistant Shashi Nath Jha to participate in the election, JMM sources claimed.
Sources told UNI today that an application in this regard had been submitted in the court of Jamtara's Additional and Sessions judge (First) Arun Kumar.
Sources from Jamtara court confirmed that an application in this regard had been filed by Mr Soren and and also by Dumka Central jail authorities where the JMM supremo was lodged after being brought from Tihar jail.
