'Indian' all set to start cargo flight in NE states
Agartala, July 17: Indian, country's national carrier, will start a cargo flight service in North Eastern states, covering Tripura, Mizoram, Assam and Manipur, from July 25.
Postal department sources here today said the Indian would use a Boeing aircraft for cargo operation and finally extend the service up to Kolkata.
''We have already hired Boeing flights exclusively for carrying mail to and from Agartala, Aizawl, Guwahati, Imphal and Kolkata,'' postal officials said adding that Indian would be operating the flights.
Meanwhile, Indian sources said the first cargo plane was expected to start operations on July 25 and the loading cranes were already dispatched to the respective airports from Mumbai.
