IMFL worth Rs 16 lakh seized in Anand District

Anand, (Guj), July 17 (UNI) Local crime branch sleuths seized 500 boxes containing Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from a truck near Tarapur village town on Vasad-Bhagodra state highway and arrested two persons along with the consignment.

Acting on a tip off, the police team had kept a vigil on the highway and spotted a truck bearing a Haryana registration number yesterday.

The vehicle was stopped and a search was carried out which led to the discovery of boxes containing IMFL worth over Rs 16 lakh, police said.

The truck driver Pavtrasingh Charan Singh and cleaner Sukhvinder Singh have been arrested under state prohibition rules, police added.
