Haryana to invest in Human Resource Development in education

Chandigarh, July 17 (UNI) Haryana Government has earmarked an amount of Rs. 1.36 crore for human resource development in Government Colleges of the State during the current financial year, Haryana Education minister Phool Chand Mullana said here today.

The teachers, students and the supporting staff would be trained under this scheme and with an active coordination of the universities and training institutes, IT awareness would also be created, he said.

The minister said that under the scheme of "Earn while you learn", an amount of Rs. 45 lakh would be spent during the current financial year. He said that this scheme would be helpful in encouraging the students to take up short-term jobs in laboratories, libraries and computer labs. This would also provide them co-curriculum learning experience, he added.

The changes in curriculum, transactional techniques, evaluation system, educational management and in particular, the teaching and learning approach and the teachers' desire for refreshing and updating their knowledge becomes the major challenges for the educational planner and the administrator, Mr Mullana said.

Mr. Mullana said that to develop the scientific temperament among the college students, a sum of Rs. 66 lakh would be spent during the current financial year for organising the science exhibitions and upgrading the laboratories of all the government colleges of the State.
