Court asks ASI to produce station diaries
Mumbai, July 17 (UNI) The court, conducting trials into the Pramod Mahajan murder case, today directed assistant sub inspector Gangadhar Ugale to produce before it last year's station diaries dated April 28 and May 4.
Mr Ugale deposed before additional sessions judge S P Davare who has been re-assigned to conduct the trials.
Mr Ugale had carried some articles from the spot of the murder to the forensic laboratory.
To a question by defence advocate Harshad Ponda, the police officer said he had delivered eight articles to the forensic laboratory.
He, however, said he could recall the exact time when he had delivered the articles.
But, he said, he had maintained a station diary recording the events.
When Advocate Ponda asked whether he would be able to produce the diary, he said ''yes'' at which Advocate Ponda requested the court to direct the police officer to produce diaries of April 28 and May 4.
The judge asked Mr Ugale to produce the diaries before the court tomorrow.
On April 22 last year, Pramod Mahajan was shot at his Worli residence allegedly by his younger brother Praveen.
He succumbed to the injuries on May 3 in the P D Hinduja Hospital.
