Children civic clubs to foster civic consciousness among children
Bangalore, Jul 17 (UNI) Children's Movement for Civic Awareness (CMCA) will launch civic clubs in the city schools under the aegis of 'Inspiration 007' to foster civic and environmental consciousness among children.
CMCA which is organising such clubs since eight years in the city will launch current year programme on July 21. A 'civic club' is an association of students in each school to promote students' participation in civic and environmental activities and spread awareness about civic sense, CMCA coordinator Vrunda Bhaskar said.
Speaking to media persons here today, she said around 2000 children would be working towards improving the quality of life and the surroundings through these clubs. 'Eco Rangers, Green Corps, Safety Warriors, Eco Buddies, Heaven Creators, Green soldiers, Evergreen Rockers, Nature Freaks were some of the names of these clubs in about 50 schools across the city.
Water will be the focus issue for this year as current year is being observed as 'National Year of Water' in the country. Water scarcity was the most critical problem of the citizens of Bangalore, she added.
