Charge framed against Soren in code of conduct violation case

Jamshedpur, Jul 17 (UNI) Incarcerated Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) supremo Shibu Soren today appeared in Jamshedpur court in connection with violation of election code of conduct case.

First Class Judicial Magistrate Arvind Kumar framed charge against Mr Soren in a case in which Mr Soren along with his party colleagues Dulal Bhuiyan and Champai Soren violated the election code of conduct on August eight,1999 by firing in the air.

Mr Soren came to attend the martyr's day function of slain JMM leader Nirmal Mahto at Chamaria guest house at Bistupur.

Mr Soren was brought from Dumka jail amidst tight security.

The former Coal Minister was sent behind bars for murdering his secretary Shashinath Jha. He left for Ranchi to cast vote for the Presidential election.

Lawyer of Mr Soren, Kewal Krishna, said the appearance of Mr Soren was completed and charge was framed against him and two others. The next hearing for the case was slated for August four, Mr Krishna said.
