Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh demands changes in SEZ law
Lucknow, July 17 (UNI) Reproaching the Centre for acquisition of farmers' agricultural lands for setting up Special Economic Zone (SEZ), the Bharatiya Majdoor Sangh (BMS) today demanded changes in the concerned law in the interest of SEZ workers.
''The UPA government is neglecting interest of the farmers by acquiring their agricultural land and selling it at exorbitant rates to industrialists,'' BMS president Girish Awasthi said at a press meet here.
''There is an urgent need to change the concerned law. Why the government is using agricultural land for SEZ, when non-agricultural land can be utilised,'' Mr Awasthi said.
Castigating the multinational companies, the BMC chief charged they are conspiring to snatch bread and butter of over four crore retailers of the unorganised sector by encouraging mall culture in the country.
