Writ of SP MP Atiq Ahmad's kin dismissed
Allahabad, July 16 (UNI) Allahabad High Court today dismissed a writ petition filed by Jameel Ahmad, a relative of Samajwadi Party MP Atiq Ahmad seeking stay against the order of the Allahabad Development Authority (ADA) demolishing J K Palace, situated at Civil Lines, Allahabad.
A division bench consisting of Justices B S Chauhan and Rakesh Sharma dismissed the writ petition when chief standing counsel M C Chaturvedi informed the court that the petitioner, in spite of the court order, did not pay court fee.
He requested the court to dismiss the petition on the ground of deficiency of proper court fee.
The petitioner had knocked the HC door on the night of July 11, 2007 without paying proper court fee in the petition against the ADA demolition order for pullingdown the J K Palace.
The judges after hearing the petition had passed interim order in favour of the petitioner, but had also asked petitioner to pay court fee before the next date of hearing of the case on July 16.
The court after hearing the parties dismissed the writ petition.
