Two policemen injured in landmine blast

Vizianagaram, July 16 (UNI) A Reserve sub-Inspector and a constable were seriously injured when suspected Maoists blasted a landmine when they were going for anti-naxal operation in Vizianagaram district of Andhra Pradesh.

Police today said a special party were going into the forest area for a combing operation in a van, when the Maoists allegedly blasted the landmine near Kurupam. They exchanged fire also with the security personnel.

The injured policemen were rushed to a hospital, police added.
