Trinamool continues boycott of Assembly, demands CM's resignation
Kolkata, July 16 (UNI) While continuing their boycott of the current session of the West Bengal Assembly, Trinamool Congress members held a noisy demonstration inside the House today demanding resignation of Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee for the Nandigram incidents.
The Trinamool members, who did not participate in the day's proceedings, suddenly barged in ten minutes after the question hour began and started shouting slogans.
They were also holding placards decrying the chief minister.
Even though the House plunged into a din making the Ministers' answers almost inaudible, Speaker Hashim Abdul Halim continued the proceedings.
Normality returned once the Trinamool members left the House after demonstrating for 20 minutes.
The Trinamool Congress had decided on July 13 to boycott the rest of the Budget session in protest against the chief minister's 'arrogant attitude' over the issues of Nandigram and Singur.
