Six nominations filed for the Vice-Presidential elections so far

New Delhi, July 16 (UNI) Two more persons filed their nomination papers for the Vice-Presidential elections today bringing the total count to six so far.

The two persons, who filed their nominations today at the office of Returning Officer (RO)/ Assistant Returning Officer (ARO), includes Dr K Padmarajan of Salem, Tamil Nadu and Dr Guru Gyan Gandhi Harish Chandra of Jahangirpuri, Delhi.

However, Dr Chandra's nomination was rejected as it neither had the certified original electoral roll displaying his name nor did he deposit the security deposit.

Out of six nominations filed so far, four were rejected for non-compliance of the basic norms.

Also, none of the candidates have made the statutory deposit of Rs 15,000 for contesting the elections.
