Shiv Sena to back NDA candidate for Vice Prez

New Delhi, Jul 16: Having ditched the NDA in the presidential poll on the slogan of 'Maratha pride', the Shiv Sena seems to be in a mood to mend fences with the NDA.

An indication to this effect was given by Shiv Sena spokesman Sanjay Raut here today when he said his party would support NDA's candidate in the Vice Presidential elections. "We are part of the NDA and we will go along with its choice," he said.

On the issue of presidential polls, the party decided to back UPA nominee Pratibha Patil although it was part and parcel of the NDA's decision to authorise former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the choice of presidential candidate.
