Power thefts of Rs 2.5 lakh detected in Buldhana

Nagpur, July 16 (UNI) Power thefts to the tune of Rs 2.5 lakh were detected in a joint action by officials of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) and the police in Buldhana in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra today.

According to an MSEDCL release, six squads detected 29 cases of theft in raids carried out at various places in the town.

Offences have been registered against the culprits under various sections of the Indian Electricity Act of 2003, the release added.
