Minor killed, 10 hurt in rain triggered accidents

Varanasi, July 16 (UNI) A minor was killed and ten others were injured critically in three separate rain-triggered accidents here this evening.

Abhay (5) was killed, while his uncle Jai Prakash (30), Murta Devi and cousin Chiranshu (2) were injured, when the balcony of a dilapidated house collapsed in Pared Kothi area under Sigra police station.

The injured were rushed to a private hospital, police said.

In a separate incident, six members of a family were injured, when lightning struck their mud dwelling in Adi Keshao Ghat area.

The injured Mohan Chowdhary, Rajan (30), Ashwini (18), Pawan (17), Chedi Lal (45) and Savitri (35) were admitted to district hospital.

Later, a boy suffered severe burns, when lightning struck Rohania area.
