New Delhi, July 16: Engineering major Larsen and Toubro Ltd (L&T) today said the company led consortium has bagged orders worth Rs 1,070 crore for supply and installation of Sinter Plant and other packages from Tata Steel.

Tata Steel is setting up six million tonnes per annum (MTPA) integrated steel plant in Kalinganagar industrial complex at Duburi in Jajpur, Orissa, to be completed in two phases of three MTPA each. The orders of L&T led consortium are for the first phase of this Greenfield project, said the statement.

L&T with Outotec GmbH, Germany bagged EPC (Engineering - Procurement - Construction) contract for 5.75 MTPA Sinter Plant valued at Rs 836 crores. L&T's share of this order is Rs 623.30 crore.

This would be the single largest Sinter Plant to be built in India and scheduled for completion in 30 months, added the statement.

The company has also been awarded the contract for civil and structural steel works of Steel Melt Shop valued at Rs 233.59 crore to be completed in 28 months.
