Lalu's prediction on fall of NDA govt day-dreaming:BJP
Patna, Jul 16 (UNI) The BJP today described as 'day-dreaming' RJD chief Lalu Prasad's prediction about the fall of the Nitish Kumar government by October 28 due to internal bickerings.
Senior BJP leader and in-chagre of Bihar affairs Kalraj Mishra reaffirmed to newspersons here that the NDA government in Bihar will complete its full term.
''The Railway Minister is making such ridiculous statement in desperation, aimed at boosting the sagging morale of his party workers. Mr Prasad is not only president of a political party but also a union minister and he should not make such irresponsible statements,'' Mr Mishra said adding there was no internal squabbles in the Bihar unit of NDA.
''Whenever Chief Minister Nitish Kumar feels the need to expand his cabinet he will do so and no extraneous meaning should be drawn on the reported delay in the expansion,'' he said adding there was no resentment among the NDA legislators over the expansion of the ministry.
Asked about the reported anger vent by NDA legislators on the style of functioning of the government before the chief minister, the BJP leader said they had every right to express their grievances before Mr Kumar and it should not be misunderstood as 'dissidence' in the ruling alliance.
Mr Mishra charged the UPA government with adopting 'soft' policies on terrorism resulting in unrest in Jammu and Kashmir and North Eastern states and said the Centre should extend requisite financial and technical support to tackle growing naxalism and extremism in these states.
Referring to the performance of the Nitish government, Mr Mishra said a new era of development and prosperity had been ushered in the the state after the NDA government came to power in Bihar.
''Besides construction and repair of roads, including the state and national highways, priorities are being accorded to provide better health and educational facilities in the state,'' he said.
