JD (S) to decide tomorrow on whom to support in Prez poll
New Delhi, July 16 (UNI) A meeting of top Janata Dal (Secular) leaders will tomorrow take a decision on whom support in the presidential elections.
The meeting, convened by J D (S) President H D Deve Gowda, has not announced their preference so far. The party is in coalition with the BJP while it has yet to sever its contacts with the UPA at the Centre as it is extending support from outside.
''We are still in the UPA and we will take an independent decision,'' JD (S) Secretary General K Danish Ali told UNI. The party has a vote value of 12,000 votes and 16,000 votes if values of the associate members are taken into account.
Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy went on record to say during his last visit to Delhi that the party would abide by the decision of the national party on the presidential elections.
