Gujjars fulfill all 5 criteria for ST list: Col Bainsla

Jaipur, Jul 16 (UNI) The Gujjar Reservation Action Committee today claimed that Gujjar community did fulfill all the five criteria laid down by the Central Government for its inclusion into the ST list and submitted formal representation in support to its contention before three-member Justice Chopra committee.

The committee delegation led by its convenor Col Kirodi Singh Bainsla submitted detailed respresentation to support its claims for Scheduled Tribe status for Gujjars.

The representation was supported by 2 lakh affidavits by various community leaders and personalities, 200 CDs and a number of historic documents and evidences which substantiated Gujjar's demand, Col Bainsla told reporters.

He said, ''We do fulfill all the five criteria laid down by the Government of India for inclusion into the ST list and we do expect justice from the three-member Judge committee which is eaxmining our demand of ST status for Gujjars.'' Community leaders and organisations from Rajput, Saini, Jat, Bheel(Udaipur belt) and tribals of Bhilwara belt had supported the demand, Mr Bainsla claimed.

Meanwhile, Action committee leader Dr Roop Singh had expressed his serious concern over media reports about missing of certain vital government files pertaining to Gujjar reservation issue.

Dr Singh also protested the government's denial for supply of information sought by him under the Right to Information Act (RTI).
