Guide arrested in HP for raping S Korean woman

Kullu, July 16 (UNI) A tourist guide who allegedly raped a South Korean tourist in the Kullu valley of Himachal Pradesh recently has been arrested in Punjab, top district official said today.

Devraj was arrested yesterday from a village in Ludhiana district of Punjab for raping a 30-year-old South Korean woman and has been brought back to Kullu, district SP GD Bhargava said.

He had offered a lift to the South Korean tourist on his motorcycle after she missed her bus from Manali on June 30.

But instead of helping her catch the bus he took her to a remote place and raped her, the police alleged.

Soon after the incident, a top official of the South Korean embassy visited the Kullu valley to speed up the investigation.
