Govt rules out concession on diesel to farmers
Bangalore, July 16 (UNI) Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today ruled out any concession to farmers in providing diesel for agriculture purpose.
Replying to a query by Mr D R Patil of Congress in the Legislative Assembly, Mr Yediyurappa said the farmers had already been provided with other benefits of loan waiver and crop loans at four per cent.
The government had collected a tax revenue of Rs 3076.93 crore during 2006-07 compared to Rs 2122.30 crore of 2004-05 from the sales of petroleum products.
He said the government had collected a total tax revenue of Rs 12,380.31 crore in 2006-07 against to Rs 8700.07 crore in 2004-05 from all tax revenue sources.
