Gopal K Pillai takes over as the officiating CMD of ITPO

New Delhi, Jul 16 (UNI) Mr Gopal K Pillai, Commerce Secretary, Ministry of Commerce&Industry (Department of Commerce) has taken over as the officiating Chairman&Managing Director of India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).

He succeeds Mr N N Khanna who demitted his charge as CMD, ITPO on July 4, 2007, on completion of his three-year tenure in the organisation.

Mr Pillai, an IAS officer of the Kerala cadre (1972), has worked in the Ministries of Defence, Shipping and Transport and in the Ministry of Home Affairs, dealing with the North-Eastern States, in the Central Government.
