Extended hour of outpatient service in Government Hospitals
Bangalore, Jul 16 (UNI) The State Government's initiative to extend the service of out-patients treatment till late hours in the evening in its hospitals had proved to be a success, Karantaka Health and Family Welfare minister R Ashok informed to the Karnataka Legislative Council here today.
Replying to Congress member Salim Ahmed, the Minister said that Government had taken the decision to extend out-patient treatment service till 2030 hours in 152 community health centers, 139 Taluk Hospitals and 42 district and other main hospitals from first week of this month.
People, especially the working class, had immensely benefited from the decision of the State Government, the Minister said.
He said that Government would be spending an additional Rs 30 crore per annum towards payment of incentives to Doctors and other medical staff who worked during the extended hours.
