Aparajita brings ray of hope for tsunami-ravaged islands

Port Blair, Jul 16 (UNI) Voluntary Health Association of India- Aparajita brought a ray of hope for Nancowry group of islands of Nicobar by introducing various diploma courses for the tsunami affected youths for the first time.

Nancowry group of islands, a part of Nicobar District was worse hit in 2004 Tsunami. Due to remoteness the islanders of this group had to move Port Blair or Mainland India for diploma or degree courses.

" The courses of Aparajita, a New Delhi based NGO would be run in collaboration with Directorate of Industries," Bajrang Lal, Assistant Commissioner, Nancowry told UNI.

Mr Lal said the Administration of Andaman and Nicobar islands was ready to give all possible supports to VHAI-Aparajita for the noble initiative.
