785th urs begins in Ajmer, Shekhawat offers chaddar on holy tomb
Ajmer, July 16 (UNI) A large number of zayreens (devotees) from different parts of country today thronged the Durgah of Sufi Saint Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti to perform ziyarat on the 795th urs which began today in a traditional manner.
The week-long annual event, marking the death anniversary of the Sufi saint, began with the opening of the zannati darwaja and other religious rituals.
Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat has also sent ''chaddar'' for offering at Khwaja Sahib's tomb. Rajasthan's Industry Minister and Mr Shekhawat's son-in-law Narpat Singh Rajvi offered the chaddar on the tomb on Mr Shekhawat's behalf.
Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan also visited the Durgah to pay his obeisance and offer chaddar on the holy tomb.
