PM lays foundation stone of township for migrant Kashmiri Pandits'
Jammu, July 15 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today laid the foundation stone for a township for displaced Kashmiri Pandits at Jagti in Jammu district.
Dr Singh, who reached here at 1040 hrs, laid foundation stone for the township with better civic amenities, which he had promised during his first visit in 2004. Over 350,000 Kashmiri Pandit migrants have been living in tented colonies and one-room tenements in various camps in Jammu.
Soon after the ceremony, the Prime Minister flew to Jammu University campus where he would receive an honorary degree from Jammu and Kashmir Governor Lt Gen (retd) S K Sinha.
