Immigration authorities detain pseudo-Buddhist monk at NSCBI
Kolkata, Jul 15 (UNI) Immigration authorities at NSCBI airport today detained a Bangladeshi, who was trying to go to Bangkok on a forced Indian passport posing as a Buddhist monk from here.

Airport officials said that the man, whose real name was Shyamal Burua, produced the passport where he was named Promotesh.
On interrogation, however, it turned out that he had obtained the Indian passport from Guwahati with the help of certificates attested by a senior medical consultant of Guwahati Medical College.
A stamp pad and a writing pad belonging to the medical consultant were found with him. He also possessed certificates of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examination and that of Assam Sanskrit Board, the genuineness of which, the police are trying to find out.
It was revealed that Barua had been coming to India from Bangladesh frequently for last ten years. He has been arrested, the officials stated.
