New Delhi, July 15 (UNI) Continuing with the wet spell since Wednesday, heavy showers lashed Delhi again this afternoon, bringing down the mercury by many degrees and providing some respite from the warm and humid conditions in the capital.

The showers, which hit Delhi at 1445 hours, came as a tremendous relief after a hot and humid day in the Capital city since this morning, which left Delhiites sweltering and threatened to put a spanner in their plans for the weekend.

The showers, which were accompanied by a cool breeze, brought down the day temperature by two to three degrees Celsius.

The minimum was recorded at 25.5 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal.

More rains are expected in the next few days with weatherman forecasting some heavy showers during the next one or two days.

''The current meteorological analysis suggests fairly widespread rainfall activity over Northwest India during the next one-two days,'' the Met office said.

The met office has forecast a partly cloudy sky in the city during the next 24 hours with a few spells of rain or thundershowers.
