Govt to set up 'prosecution houses' in court premises
Tirupati, July 15 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh government will construct 'Prosecution houses' on every Court premises in all the districts for better interaction with police and witnesses, Minister for Law and Courts R Chenga Reddy said today.
Speaking at the concluding session of the two-day regional conference of law officers on justice delivery system here, Mr Reddy expressed concern over the delay in settlement of cases and urged the law officers to discharge their duties with honesty and integrity.
Enhancement of remuneration of government pleaders, public prosecutors and others, appointment of liaison officers at districts and filling up of vacant posts would be discussed with the Chief Minister, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate General C V Mohan Reddy said the state had not carefully instructed the law officers in civil matters.
Lack of interest in the litigation procedures leads to failure in solving the problems mainly in land acquistion and providing compensation, he added.
He suggested the government to provide assistance to the government pleaders, who were attending cases in many courts while high profile cases be entrusted with the joint collectors.
To take prompt actions, liaison officers should be appointed at Mandal level also, he said.
Besides hiking remuneration for law officers and clearing pending arrears, the government should also provide infrastructure facilities for them, he demanded.
In 90 per cent of cases, the police department had failed in registering FIRs, he added.
