Two killed, 19 injured in accidents in HP
Shimla, July 14 (UNI) A couple was killed and 19 people were injured in three separate road accidents in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh during the last 24 hrs, police sources said.
The coupe, identified as Bodh Raj, 35, and his wife Parma Negi, 30, were killed after their vehicle veered off the road and fell into a gorge at Kunthlu Mor, about 65 km, near the famous tourist resort of Narkanda in Shimla district yesterday.
The sources said the accident occurred while they were on their way to Kinnuar district from here, killing the couple on the spot.
In another accident in the district, four people were injured, two of them seriously, after their truck fell into a gorge at Khanar late last night.
The sources said the driver of the sand-laden truck lost control over the vehicle, which fell into the gorge, injuring four people.
While two people, identified as Bhagar Ram and Bobby, were discharged after first aid, two others, identified as Nand Lal and Pyare Lal, were referred to Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC) here, they said.
Doctors of the hospital told UNI here that following a deterioration in the condition of Bhagat Ram, he has been referred to PGI at Chandigarh.
In yet another accident, 15 people were injured after a private bus met with an accident under Junga Police Station in the district.
