Student take part in Energy Conservation rallies

Hisar, July 14 (UNI) Hundreds of students participated in Energy Conservation rallies organised in various cities in Haryana today.

The rallies were organised at Hisar, Sirsa, Bhiwani, Gurgaon, Faridabad and Narnaul by the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) which observed Energy Conservation Day yoday.

A DHBVN spokesman said the Nigam organised races, processions, drawing competitions to create awareness for energy conservation among the masses.

Under its campaign for electricity conservation, the DHBVN is persuading the consumers to replace all incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescent lamps (CFL) in its area.

Its campaign for replacement of all yellow bulbs with CFLs has gained momentum and about 130 villages have already been covered under the campaign where all incandescent bulbs have been replaced with CFL bulbs.
