NYA's bandh called off in Arunachal
Itanagar, Jul 14 (UNI) The proposed 12-hour-bandh call, given by the Nyishi Youth Association (NYA) in support of their three-point charter of demands on July 16, was called off today.
Talking to newsmen here, local MLA Kipa Babu said the proposed bandh was withdrawn after assurance from the state government.
The NYA decided to call the bandh protesting the shifting of Naharlogun community hall and demanding early construction of Doimukh-Hoj road and proposed construction of multiplex hall at Naharlogun.
Mr Babu further informed that the Central government had recently sanctioned Rs 112 crore for three different projects in Arunachal Pradesh.
These were development of catchment areas at Poma village and its adjoining areas here of Rs 78 crore, construction of parking place at Naharlogun of Rs 23 crore and water supply project at Naharlogun of Rs 11 crore.
