Kamal says his new film has a complicated, big subject
Chennai, July 14 (UNI) Ace actor Kamal Hassan, whose forthcoming film ''Dasavathaaram'', is being awaited as the next Kollywood blockbuster after his contemporary Rajnikant's ''Sivaji'', today said his was a ''complicated and a big subject.'' Talking to newspersons on the sidelines of a seminar on Indian cinema got up by Indio American Chamber of Commerce here along with Madras Film Society, the celebrated actor said the release of the film would depend on how fast the post-production work progresses.
''Nothing can be said about post production work these days.
But the shooting of the film will be completed next month'', said Kamal, who is portraying a record ten roles in the film, two more than the number of roles portrayed by late Sir Alec Guinness in his 1949 film ''Kind Hearts and Coronets'' and one more than the number of roles enacted by late one of the thespians of Indian cinema Sivaji Ganesan in ''Navarathri'' ('Nine nights') in 1964.
Kamal Hassan said the work on ''Dasavatharam'' was progressing slowly, smoothly thanks to a thoroughly professional and talented unit.
Asked about charges of plagiarism against him, Kamal strongly criticising such petitions said, ''this is only the handiwork of some people who angle for publicity.'' Such a (false )case was filed against the film 'Sivaji' also, he added.
The case has been quashed and we are going ahead , he said.
Asked if the film would be released during Deepavali festival as earlier announced, Kamal said ''nothing can be said at this stage.'' UNI
