218th Republic Day of France celebrated with gaiety

Puducherry, July 14 (UNI) The 218th Repubic Day of France was celebrated with gaiety and fanfare by over 10,000 French citizens in the Union Territory of Puducherry today.

Consul General of France in Puducherry Jolle Raylt, Secretary to Puducherry administration Balakrishnan (representing the Lt Governor), representatives of the French Lower House from Puducherry and retired French defence personnel were among those who placed wreaths at the ''Munument Aux Morts'' (monument for the unknown soldier) on the Goubert avenue here to mark the occasion.

French national flags was also hoisted atop all the French buildings here.
