1,187 cases of drunken driving detected by Traffic police

Mumbai, July 14 (UNI) To prevent accidents by motorists under the influence of alcohol and to curb the cases of drunken driving, the Traffic Control Branch of Mumbai Police has undertaken 12 special drives since June 20.

In these drives, it has detected 1,187 cases of drunken driving so far.

Such a drive was again undertaken on the intervening night of July 11 and July 12 from 2330 hrs to 0100 hrs, in which the Traffic cops found 100 motorists driving their vehicles under the influence of alcohol.

This move of traffic police proved very successful and effective.

The Traffic Police have appealed to the motorists to refrain from drunken driving.
