Woman poisoned for a colour TV and gold
Chatra, July 13 (UNI) A woman was allegedly poisoned to death by her husband and in-laws for her inability to give colour television and two tolas of gold as dowry in Jharkhand's Chatra district today.
The incident occurred at a village under Simaria police station.
According to the first information report (FIR), lodged in this regard, the victim Sumita of Jabra village tied nuptial knot with Gyani Sav of Hapua village three years ago.
From the beginning Sumita's in-laws had been torturing her for dowry.
Police said her husband and parents-in-law last night poisoned her last night, adding the victim spoke about the crime before she died this morning.
Sumita said she was being tortured for a colour television and two tolas of gold.
