ULFA chief's body guard among two cadres surrender in Asom
Guwahati, July 13 (UNI) Two hardcore ULFA cadres, including the bodyguard of ULFA commander-in-chief Paresh Barua, today surrendered before the Army at Tinsukia in Upper Asom.
Trained in Myanmar, the two cadres identified as Babul Chetia alias Bijoy Singh and Biju Gogoi alias Rupantar Gogoi, surrendered before the officiating commander of the second Bihar Regiment at the Gillapukhuri Army Camp.
While Babul was involved in various strikes and extortion activities of the ULFA in Upper Asom, Biju had been operating from Arunachal Pradesh for sometime after which having trained in various sophisticated arms and bombs in Bangladesh.
Biju also served as the bodyguard of the ULFA top boss.
The two rebels deposited a pistol, two magazines, two grenades, four detonators, one kg explosive and ammunition of AK-47.
