Trains cancelled, diverted following derailment of goods train
New Delhi, Jul 13 (UNI) Nearly 15 suburban trains were cancelled and several express and mail trains diverted and partially terminated following the derailment of a goods train near Narela station on the Delhi-Ambala route.
Several long distance trains including the 2413 Jaipur-Jammu Tawi Pooja Express, 4553 Delhi-Una Himachal Express, 2471 Jammu Tawi- Mumbai Central Swaraj Express, 1057 Dadar-Amritsar Express, 2497 Hazrat Nizamuddin-Amritsar Shan-E-Punjab and 2011 New Delhi-Kalka Shatabdi Express trains have been diverted to run via Ghaziabad-Meerut City-Saharanpur.
The 4217 Unchahar Express will be short terminated at New Delhi station today and remain cancelled between New Delhi-Chandigarh.
The 8101 Muri Express, 5707 Katihar Express, 2919 Malwa Express trains have been diverted to run via Rohtak- Jind-Jakhal-Ludhiana stations.
The 2029 Shatabdi Express has been diverted to run via Rohtak-Jind-Jakhal stations and the 4095 Himalayan Queen Express, 2311 Kalka Mail and 2925 Paschim Express via Rohtak-Panipat stations.
The 1077 Jhelum Express train will ply on an alternative route via Ghaziabad-Shamli-Saharanpur stations while the 2414 Jammu Tawi-Jaipur Pooja Express, 8102 Jammu Tawi-/Tatanagar Muri Express, 4034 Jammu Tawi-Delhi Jammu Mail, 4554 Una-Delhi Jn. Himachal Express, 2446 Udhampur-New Delhi Uttar Sampark Krnati Express, 2312 Kalka-Howra Kalka Mail trains will do so via Panipat-Rohtak stations.
The 404A Uhampur-New Delhi Special train will run via Ambala-Saharanpur-Meerut City stations and the 1078 Jammu Tawi-Pune Jhelum Express train, 2006 Kalka-New Delhi Shtabdi Express and the 4732 Bhatinda-New Delhi Intercity Express trains via Ambala-Sahranpur-Shamli.
The 2014 Amritsar-New Delhi Shatabdi Express train has been diverted to run via Ludhiana-Jakhal-Jind stations.
The 2203 Saharsa-Amritsar Garib Rath Express train has been diverted to run via New Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut City stations for the day.
Restoration work took place on a war footing and the route was cleared for traffic by this evening. The first train passed has been Sackhand Express.
