Thirunallar Saneeswaran temple to get new elephant

Puducherry, July 13 (UNI) The famous Dharbaneeswarar temple (Saneeswaran) at Thirunallar in the Karaikal region of the Union Territory will soon get a new elephant.

The temple authorities decided to replace the present jumbo with a new one as it turned violent frequently.

Thirunallar Legislator P R Siva today held discussions with the Chief Minister in this regard and the latter had given permission to get a new tusker for the temple.

Several people have come forward to donate an elephant to the temple. They would be shortlisted and the selected person would donate an elephant, which would be accepted by the temple before Sanipeyirchi, which falls on August five.
