Speaker asks K'taka Govt to submit ATR on MML
Bangalore, July 13 (UNI) Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker Krishna today directed the State Government to submit within three months, an Action Taken Report on the House Committee report on the mismanagement of Mysore Minerals Ltd.
Mr Krishna gave the ruling after a discussion initiated by Mr J C Madhuswamy of JD(U) under Rule 234, instructing the Government to produce the report on looting money from the public sector unit.
Mr G V Srirama Reddy of the CPI(M) and Mr Roshan Baig of the Congress, taking part in the discussion, demanded a CBI inquiry into the looting of crores of Rupees in connivance with officials, politicians and industrialists for the past several years.
The House Committee report, placed before the House yesterday, said the company had suffered a loss of Rs 700 crore due to the mismanagement of the officials.
The Speaker had allowed the issue to be taken up for discussion following a statement from Home and Parliamentary Affairs Minister M P Prakash that the Government had no objection to it.
The Government had referred the case to the Lok Ayukta.
