SHO suspended over links with smuggler in Punjab

Jalandhar, Jul 13 (UNI) Punjab Police today suspended the SHO of Bhogpur Police Station in the district, for alledged links with notorious narcotics smuggler.

Senior Superintendent of Police Arpit Shukla said that notoriuos poppy husk smuggler Bakhshinder Singh alias Bhinda, a resident of Ghag under Bholath Police Station in Kapurthala district, was today arrested by the Narcotics Cell, Amritsar from outside the residence of Bhogpur Police Station SHO Sub-Inspector Sukha Singh here.

The SSP said Bakhshinder, wanted by the Amritsar (Rural) district police in a number of cases, enjoyed good relations with the SHO.

The SI Sukha Singh has been been placed under suspension with immidiate effect and a regular departmental enquiry has been initiated against him, said Mr Shukla.
