Raja Bhaiyya, ex-minister charged with 'issuing life threats'

Pratapgarh, July 13 (UNI) Former Uttar Pradesh Minister and controversial Independent MLA Raghuraj Pratap Singh alias Raja Bhaiyya, former state minister Rajaram Pandey and their supporters have been booked under various cases of abduction, robbery and issuing life threats.

Acting on the recent instructions of UP Chief Minister Mayawati to register all criminal cases pending for the last three years, cases were registered late last night against Raja Bhaiyya and his main accomplice Praful, former state minister Rajaram Pandey, his nephew and Samajwadi Party Pratapgarh district unit vice-president Devendra Pandey.

A case of abudction and threat to life was lodged by one Rajesh Shukla, a resident of Kalyanpur village, alleging Raja Bhaiya along with his supporters brutally beat him and tried to abduct him during the recently-concluded Assembly polls in the state.

The controversial legislator was also booked in one robbery case, besides his main supporter Ram Rekha Singh.

Ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MLA from Garwara area Brijesh Saurabh's media in charge Pramod Tiwari lodged a complaint against former Khadi and Gram Udyog Minister Rajaram Pandey for issuing life threats.

Mr Rajaram Pandey's nephew and Samajwadi Party Pratapgarh district unit vice president Devendra Pandey was also booked in a robbery case.

Balakhpur village rehident Jeet Lal lodged a complaint against Raja Bhaiyya's close confidant Pramukh Praful for threatening him to resign from BSP, besides kidnapping him.
